The model is dedicated to the popular series of Japanese manga comics.
After the release of the A384 Revival model, presented on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the El Primero caliber, Zenith decided to experiment in a completely unexpected direction and created a watch presented in the Japanese series of manga and anime Lupin the Third. Limited to 50 copies, the El Primero A384 “Lupin The Third” series is available exclusively in Japan.
In 1969, the Launch of the El Primero calibre took place and the presentation of the first watch equipped with the legendary movement and released under the A384 reference. Two years later, the world saw the first series of comic books, the manga Lupen III, which instantly became popular in Japan and then around the world. Already in the first episode, you can see twice that one of the characters in the series, Daisuke Jigen, a good-natured companion of the main protagonist Lupen, wears a Zenith watch, very similar to the El Primero A384. Until now, this clock has been just a fiction of the comic book author.
Embodied in reality according to the sketches of the original A384, the watch received almost identical to the original steel case with a diameter of 37 mm, equipped with the same push buttons and a crown in the form of a pump. On the transparent sapphire insert of the steel back cover is printed Mr. Jigen, taking off his hat.
The tachymeter scale and counters on the black matte dial are grey, creating an expressive visual contrast. The hands and overhead indexes are covered in gold. For the hands and marks, the cream-beige phosphor Super-LumiNova® was chosen, which harmonizes with the gold accents and gives the watch a light retro flair.
The watch comes in a special box, in the design of which frames from the manga Lupin The Third are used.
