Good afternoon, watch lovers and readers of my blog!
It’s no secret that a Rolex watch is an iconic and prestigious accessory that is much more than just a watch. It is these chronometers that appear in films and on the wrists of the most famous people on the planet more often than others. And, perhaps, no other watch is as famous and recognizable as a watch with a crown.
Obviously, such popularity cannot but affect the value of Rolex and their price tends to increase seriously over time , as experience shows.
In today’s publication, dear readers, I would like to figure out together with you how much the Rolex is getting more expensive and which model is the “leader” in terms of price growth.
Fine Rolex Daytona Ref, 116500LN with ceramic bezel in steel case
Rolex Daytona Ref. 116500LN
It seems to me that it is worth starting with one of the most expensive and complex Rolex models – the finest mechanical Daytona chronograph . Historically important for the company, namely…
The price of a Daytona with a ceramic bezel ( Ref. 116500LN ) at the beginning of 2021 was a considerable 23.200 € and 25.400 € for versions with black and white dials (~ 2.060.000 and ~ 2.250.000 rubles, respectively) .
Rolex Daytona 116500LN Black Dial
As of 05.06.2021 (two days ago) , the price of the same reference was already much more than a round sum – 30.000 € for the version with a black dial and 32.500 € for the version with white dial ( 2.665 million rubles and 2,887 respectively) .
Rolex Daytona 116500LN White Dial
In just six months, the watch managed to acquire + 29% and + 27% to its original cost, respectively .
What is the reason for this?
Most likely with the ever-growing popularity of Daytona, because this particular chronograph is the most prestigious and expensive in the original line of steel chronometers.

Fine Rolex Day-Date Ref. 228235 rose gold
Rolex Day-Date “60th Anniversary” Ref. 228235
In 2016, the company celebrated the 60th anniversary of its most famous classic Day-Date model with the release of two “anniversary” references in white and rose gold .
Each of the models had a distinctive olive-colored dial with appliqué Roman numerals and a 40mm case.

These watches are still in production , but, nevertheless, it is quite difficult to find them for sale in Rolex boutiques , which could not but affect the price.
A little over a year ago, in May 2020 , the price for the anniversary reference was 34.400 € (~ 3 million rubles) for the version in pink gold and 31.500 € (~ 2.8 million rubles) for the version in white gold.

A year later, in May 2021, the price of these Day-Date increased significantly and amounted to 46.500 € (~ 4.1 million rubles) and 40.000 € (~ 3.5 million rubles), respectively. In percentage terms, this is + 35% and + 26%, which is quite serious, especially for watches without really striking features.
Rolex Submariner 126610LN and Kermit watches
Rolex Submariner Ref. 126610LN
Submariner is perhaps the most recognizable watch of the company, a real icon and legend that has become an integral part of many historical events of our time.
One of the latest models for references, 126610LN , a ceramic bezel and a diameter of 41 mm , – a very popular version of the Submariner with the colors Black on black and complication date under the brand glass-Cyclops.
General view of the real legend – Rolex Submariner
The average price of the model at the moment is about $ 14.500 (~ 1.055 million rubles) . Specifically for this watch, the price remains plus or minus stable, since the model is, by far, the most popular in the Rolex lineup and has approximately stable demand.
Over a period of a year, this reference has risen in price by ~ $ 2000 dollars , from ~ $ 12,000 to the current price.
Swiss Rolex Submariner Wrist Watch
It is impossible to unambiguously highlight the trend of a significant increase in the price of certain Rolex , but we can confidently single out a number of patterns . Especially rare or historical models (like the anniversary Day-Date or Daytona “Panda”) , chronometers made of precious metals (for example, platinum, white and rose gold) and limited editions (original Rolex Hulk) are growing especially strongly .
And it is not even necessary to take the most expensive Rolexes to feel the rapid growth of their value on the market.
