The rare Reference 6239 features a “Pulsations” dial to measure your heart rate. We all know that Eric Clapton is great with guitars, but apparently he is not lazy in choosing good watches either.

The Rolex watch dubbed the “Crazy Doc” will go under the hammer this May. Wristwatches were previously part of the musician’s collection.

They will be the star lot of the upcoming Phillips watch auction in Geneva, which will take place on May 7 and 8. Rolex Daytona Ref. 6239, equipped with a Pulsations dial.



This Rolex Daytona is the only known example of the 6239 in yellow gold with a Pulsations dial that features a pulse scale on the outer track. The auction house claims that the clock is well preserved.



Crazy Doc is expected to gross over $1.6 million. The direct sale, organized in partnership with Bacs & Russo, will take place at the Hôtel La Réserve in Geneva.

The auction will feature other notable watches from major brands and independent manufacturers. Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 in pink gold with a pink dial.

Another outstanding model is the Patek Philippe Reference 1518. This first-class watch has always been in demand. The rose gold auction copy features the coveted pink dial. The watch belongs to a private collection and is presented in its original form. Phillips predicts they will cost between $1.3 million and $2.6 million. Of course, no good auction is complete without the Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman”. The copy, which will be put up for sale in May, is a real hit. The Reference 6241, also known as the John Player Special, is offered in exceptional and original condition. It is expected to cost between $750,000 and $1.5 million.
