Due to the unique external appearance – an enlarged body made of precious metals such as gold and platinum, as well as a general view of the vintage spirit, complete with high-quality mechanism – all this makes a strong impression with the personal acquaintance with the clock.
Along with the new conceptual hours in 2015 under the name of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1 manufactory Le Brassus seeks to join the very small circle of watch brands of high-end, which aim to improve the acoustic performance of the breathtakingly complicated, and yet in some ways an old-fashioned sophistication .
The case design is already familiar experienced enthusiasts hours: this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept with their unusual angular structure of the ears.
In accordance with generally accepted standards, it is this body places itself in an experimental manufactory caliber, which made their way into the uncharted territory of Haute Horlogerie.
Ask any master-watchmaker, a complication they consider the most difficult to manufacture.

Nevertheless, Audemars Piguet, or rather their masters group calling themselves Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, complication reconstructed so as to significantly improve the acoustic quality of the mechanism.
Their research laboratory has worked for more than three years in the development and implementation of this new design from the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne).
The new mechanism was inspired by the craft manufacture of stringed instruments.
The brand even collaborated with the respected academician Geneva Conservatory on the perception of sound, to hear a chime sounded as purely as possible.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1 resistant to water only up to 20 meters, and it means that the watch should be kept away from the liquid.
Audemars Piguet also developed a new and more technically difficult practically silent percussion mechanism controller, also known as gavernor (governor).
This important component of the traditional mechanisms of the fight, which is activated continuously when the minute repeater is activated, creates an acoustic noise of the mechanical plant, which often eliminates the noise generated by the hammers and gongs.
This technical feature that makes the mechanism is almost inaudible certainly help gongs sound is much clearer, and this, in turn, helps them finely tuned sound to be more enjoyable.
And last but not least important detail – Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1 is supplied in 44-mm titanium housing, which will be much louder sound due to the relatively low density of the metal as compared with gold or platinum.
The mechanism is also equipped with tourbillon and chronograph with a column wheel (column wheel at this level of fine watchmaking appropriate more than anywhere else).
Tourbillon hours Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1 includes not one but two anchor wheels (one located at position 6:00 and the other is located at 10 o’clock) and two fixed wheels (one of them, gray , located in the center, and the other a little bigger and gold – below), and finally – the two balance wheels! We can say that the two balance wheels are separated from each other, if you look at the color of the screws mounted in the wheels of the circle: the upper screw balance wheel equipped with silver, and the screws of the lower wheel has a golden color.
As far as is known, is an innovation design of the tourbillon by Audemars Piguet; in fact, the two balance and two fixed wheels arranged on each other in this configuration, of course, is something revolutionary.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1 will come complete with a black rubber strap and titanium bezel, in sportivnos style that you would expect from a brand of conceptual hours.
