New hour car in collaboration with Stephen McDonnell
New model Legacy Machine Perpetual with an eternal calendar watch brand MB & F has developed in collaboration with an independent Irish watchmaker Stephen McDonnell. The LM Perpetual model is equipped with a 581 caliber with a system of automatic calculation of the number of days in a month (the calendar unit here is not a separate module added to the basic mechanism, and its component). Of the aesthetic considerations, the entire mechanism of the eternal calendar is discovered due to the actual absence of the dial. From the side of the dial is also an open balance, which is superimposed on the mechanism.
Usually in the eternal calendar, the 31-day duration of the month is taken as a basis. In the case when in a month less days, unnecessary days are simply “skipped” during the switching of the indicator. So, when changing the testimony from February 28 to the first March, the calendar “lets” numbers 29, 30 and 31. LM PERPETUAL takes as the basis of a 28-day duration of the month, to which additional days are added as needed. Thus, every month the indicator will display the exactly required number of days, not jumping through unnecessary numbers. In addition, if in the usual perpetual calendar to configure the leap cycle, you must manually switch months (up to 47), in the LM PERPETUAL model there is a special quick setting button.
The hour and minute arrows are in the position “12 hours”, between the arches of the balance. Further clockwise there are an indicator of the week of the week at the mark “3 hours”, the stroke indicator (“4 hours”), a month (“6 hours”), a retrograde indicator of the leap cycle (“7 hours”) and dates pointer (“9 hours “). The Legacy Machine Perpetual model is released by two limited series: 25 copies of pink gold 18 carats and 25 copies of sample platinum 950.
