By request of the Gran Turismo Events Supercar Club, Halda Watch CO released a special version of Space Race Polonia watch in honor of the flight of the only Polish cosmonaut Miroslav Gerushevsky. He climbed into space in 1978 on the Soyuz-30 spacecraft and was located on the Salyut-6 orbital station. In March 2015, Gran Turismo and Halda Watch Company have already collaborated in creating 27 copies of The Halda Race Pilot model.
The Halda Space Discovery watch, on the basis of which a model dedicated to the Polish cosmonaut is created using the mechanism that was created in the late 1970s, and then survived the update thanks to the chalkman of Sveta Andersen. This mechanism was used in clocks approved by NASA and went into space to the international orbital station in 2009. At the beginning of the 2000s, Halda Watch bought the remaining 128 mechanisms from Andersen. All mechanisms were used in Halda clock. Two models working with their help are exhibited in museums – in Washington and London.
At the end of the summer of 2015, the watchmaker from Halda managed to collect the 129th mechanism from the spare parts of the company Andersen Geneva. This mechanism has become the “heart” of the special model of Halda Space Race Polonia. The clock is supplied with two replaceable modules: electronic and mechanical. The Gran Turismo electronic module contains information about racing tracks. The case is supplemented with a metal bracelet and a textile strap with a Polish flag. The flag with the flag you can see the figures 1978 – a reminder of the year of flight. A clock kit also includes a signed photo made on board the Soyuz-30 ship.
