Big Theater will show “Jewelry” George Balanchine on the facade
Ballet was created and recreated with the participation of Van Cleef & Arpels
The Bolshoi Theater will show the “jewelry” of George Balanchine on the facade of the building. You can see the performance on July 8 and 9 at 19 o’clock. Ballet was chosen for direct broadcast, to create one of the most famous choreographers of the 20th century inspired meeting with Claude Arpels. Claude Arpels, nephew Estelle Arpels, invited Balanchic to Van Cleef & Arpels boutique on Fifth Avenue in New York and showed the creation of a jewelry house. As a result, the Balanchine created a new ballet of three parts, named after the three gems. Three parts of the excavory ballet are dedicated to different composers: the first part of the “Emerald” – Gabriel Food, the second part of the “Rubina” – Igor Stravinsky and the third part of the “diamonds” – Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Van Cleef & Arpels in 2012 made a partner of the Bolshoi Theater in the restoration of the play, born in 1967. Now the recreated production will be able to see not only the audience in the hall of the Bolshoi Theater, but also everyone.
